``Elegant dining in the country``
Explore the fabulous produce of the North York Moors National Park, presented in a contemporary way while you relax in comfortable surroundings
The Eskdale, Castleton
The Eskdale is located in the heart of the majestic North York Moors National Park on the banks of the river Esk, a great northern trout and salmon river. Established in 1865 as The Station Hotel it has been in continues use as a public house since then.
“A traditional country pub with real ales and quality food”
Now after a substantial refurbishment we present a traditional country setting with real ales, pub food and the fine dining Restaurant 1865, all of which showcase the best local produce the National Park has to offer. We also have a sizable beer garden where you can just sit and enjoy the breath-taking surroundings while the river bubbles away in the back ground.
Fresh and organic produce
We have an exclusive working partnership with Camphill Village Trust, a charity that fully integrates adults with learning disabilities in its operations, among which is a 750 acre farm just 2 miles away from The Eskdale. Camphill’s produce is fully organic and regularly supplies the Eskdale with fresh seasonal harvest, which our head chef Murray Wilson showcases to its absolute best.
Fine dining Restaurant 1865
We advise that booking is a must for the fine dining Restaurant 1865 but if you are passing, either walking, riding or just on a drive through the National Park, please feel free to pop in and have a drink or a bite to eat. You will be met by Kirsty and the team who will make you feel at home and make sure you will want to come back again, and again!
We will be running a pub quiz from 8pm every Sunday night
